Temporary Traffic Regulation Notice – S14 Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Temporary Road Closure at Brightwell cum Sotwell, Sotwell Street

In the interests of public safety, it will be necessary for Oxfordshire County Council to close the road as detailed above in order to facilitate urgent work, tree felling poor condition trees.

A temporary Notice is being made to implement the temporary closure and will operate from 05 May 2026 up to and including 06 May 2026. This will operate between 09:30 and 15:30.

A Temporary Traffic Regulation Notice is being made to implement the temporary closure and restriction and will operate on the days shown above.

Please note that Notices for urgent works can last up to 5 consecutive days only.

 

TRAFFIC REGULATION NOTICE
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984
Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, that the Oxfordshire County Council

TEMPORARILY PROHIBITS THE USE OF THE HIGHWAY
BY ALL MOTOR VEHICLES
LOCATION: Brightwell-cum-Sotwell, Bell Lane (Between Wellsprings Junction and Bakers Lane junction)
REASON: To facilitate SGN to lay new service connection
DURATION: Starting on 18 May 2026

The anticipated completion date is 22 May 2026 (date included). This is a 24 hour daily road closure (Traffic Regulation Notices cover a maximum of 5 consecutive days.)
ACCESS: Limited access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles and for frontages within the closed section of
road, subject to the progress of the works. Access will maintained for cyclists and pedestrians
SUGGESTED ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: via Brightwell street – Church Lane –High Road and vice versa

Access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles and for those frontages within the closure area, subject to the progress of the works and liaison with the works supervisor.

A copy of the drawing showing the extent of the closure and also the alternative routes for traffic is attached.
